King Calls for Cleaner Cambodia, Praises Trash Collectors

Phnom Penh: His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni urged Cambodians to take greater responsibility for keeping their environment clean and attractive for tourists. He praised trash collectors for their hard work during a National Clean City Day event.

Speaking to over 2,000 trash collectors, the King emphasized the importance of cleanliness in cities, resorts, and throughout the country. He said a clean and green Cambodia would be more appealing to both local and international visitors.

The event, held at Koh Norea in Phnom Penh, included a gathering and distribution of donations to the trash collectors. The King also commended the Royal Government and Phnom Penh authorities for their efforts in maintaining peace, development, and urban beauty.

He expressed gratitude to the collectors for their dedication and hard work in keeping the capital clean and healthy. "Thank you for using your physical and mental energy to make Phnom Penh a beautiful city," he said.

The amount of trash collected daily in Phnom Penh highlights the vital role of these workers. According to Governor Khuong Sreng, an average of 3,700 tons of garbage are collected every day.
